The Port of Augusta

The port of Augusta, in the province of Syracuse, is a strategic hub thanks to its central position on international routes.

It is the largest natural port in the lower Mediterranean, with an important industrial area, an oil port, a commercial port, a military base and a tourist area with two docks.

The port, protected by 6.5 km of breakwaters, has 43 berths, 6.8 km of piers and seabeds up to 22 meters deep, handling about 1.5 million tons of goods every year.
