MSC Cruises restarts with the Grandiosa ship in Palermo from August 19.

With the new slogan "Your health and safety will always be our top priority," MSC restarts from the Mediterranean. A weekly stop is scheduled in the Sicilian capital, Palermo. The Grandiosa will resume its 7-night Western Mediterranean cruise from August 16, departing from Palermo, Genoa, Civitavecchia, and Naples with a stop in Malta, offering guests a complete and safe cruising experience.

During the pause in cruises, the MSC Sicilia team, in collaboration with MSC Cruises, the Port Authority, Civil Protection, and Maritime Health, focused on developing an innovative, comprehensive operational protocol. In addition to the already rigorous hygiene measures, MSC Sicilia is implementing further steps to ensure safe and smooth excursions, transits, and embarkations for their guests, staff, and local communities.

The protocol includes universal Covid-19 testing for all guests and staff before the cruise; "protected" excursions organized exclusively for guests; increased physical distancing at the port, terminal, and on transportation with reduced bus capacity; and enhanced healthcare services.

MSC Cruises' CEO, Gianni Onorato, adds: "We are proud to welcome our guests again for a complete cruising experience aboard two of our latest generation ships. And we are honored to restart right from Italy, the country of our roots, where we are a leader and which represents our main global market."
